Lunch with Lord Brocket at Cliveden

Well not exactly with his Lordship of ' I'm a Celebrity' fame -  and other infamous exploits.I  was actually having lunch in the Terrace Restaraurant at Cliveden - yes, this job does have its perks - when I spied a very dashing figure striding across the parterre. "That's Lord Brocket," I exclaimed, almost choking on my smoked salmon. Apparently, the Hertforshire aristo was doing a shoot  for Hello magazine. 

Katherine Jenkins & John Barrowman at the Henley Festival

Just been to the launch of this year's Henley Festival at the Madejski in Reading and am very impressed by the line-up.Beautiful Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins returns for her second year but there's a whole galaxy of other stars. John Barrowman, star of Dr Who spin-off Torchwood, will be singing and dancing, James Naughtie will be hosting an evening of Pucini and Sir Michael Parkinson will be entertaining with wit and wisdom.

One of my personal favoruites on the comedy scene is Rich Hall and he'll be there, together with another comedy legend Arthur Smith.

Broadcaster and music lover John Suchet is booked, together with the rave-reviewed Three Mo' Tenors from Broadway - a real coup for the Festival.

Henley girl Rebecca Poole was at the launch.The lovely singer/songwriter has apparently been signed to a major label and we'll be seeing and hearing a lot more of her soon.

I'm looking forward to it already - just hope we get good weather!
